The commercial truck driver called the authorities on Tuesday morning to report the stolen truck. He thinks that someone must have stolen it between midnight and 8:30 a.m. while it was left in a secure parking lot in Santa Ana, 4900 block of West First Street.

Reports from the driver said that he picked up a shipment of electronics in Long Beach on Monday and was on his way to Missouri when his truck broke down and he was forced to stop in Santa Ana for the night.

According to authorities, the big-rig was a blue 2006 Freightliner, with a 53-foot-long trailer that is inscribed with “Cobalt Trans” on both sides.

The incident is still under investigation.
