Three-vehicle Crash on I-15 in San Diego Causes Injuries

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 23, 2021) – Early in the morning on Thursday in San Diego, three vehicles collided on I-15, causing injuries. The crash occurred on the northbound side of the freeway, close to Carmel Mountain Road.

The time was roughly 2:00 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

Three vehicles–described as a Kia Optima, and Ford F-150 pickup truck, and a third vehicle not described–were involved in the collision. No details have been reported on how the crash happened, or what sequence involved each vehicle.

Reports do not yet say how many people were injured in the crash, nor the types of injuries the people suffered.

None of the people involved in the crash have been identified, including their names, ages, genders, and cities of residence. The driver of each vehicle at the time of the crash is not known.

Investigators are gathering information and details to understand why the crash happened.
