Santos Alejandro Jimenez Cruz Identified as Suspect Sought in Hit-and-run Crash that Killed 3 Girls in Lucerne Valley

LUCERNE VALLEY, CA (October 4, 2021) – Santos Alejandro Jimenez Cruz was identified by the California Highway Patrol as the suspect sought in the hit-and-run crash that killed three girls in Lucerne Valley, and critically injured a fourth. The Lucerne Valley crash occurred on June 5.

Three girls were struck and killed in the crash. The girls were 11, 12, and 13 years old. A fourth girl–identified as 14 years old–suffered injuries that were described as critical. She is still in the hospital.

Authorities identified Cruz as the suspect they are seeking. He faces charges that include three counts of vehicular manslaughter, according to authorities.

Cruz is 18 years old. His city of residence has not been reported.

Investigators are continuing their search for Cruz, and continuing to collect information regarding the crash.
