San Francisco Bicyclist In Critical Condition After Muni Bus Runs Over Him

A man who had been riding a bicycle is in critical condition after a Muni Bus rolled over him yesterday in San Francisco, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The late afternoon accident, which occurred roughly at 4:41 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, happened when the bicyclist’s wheel caught on a Muni track. The bicyclist then fell under the bus, the 31 Balboa, and it rolled over him at the Market Street and New Montgomery Street intersection, the Chronicle reports.

Responders took the victim to San Francisco General Hospital where he was treated for life-threatening injuries, according to a police spokesman, Officer Albie Esparza, the news story explains.

Investigators examined the scene of the accident.
