San Diego Hit-and-run Crash in Linda Vista Area Kills Pedestrian

SAN DIEGO, CA (October 25, 2021) – Early in the evening on Friday in San Diego, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver. The October 22 crash occurred in the neighborhood of Linda Vista, on Linda Vista Road close to Genesee Avenue.

The time was roughly 7:45 p.m., according to San Diego Police.

The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle–described only as an SUV, dark in color–on the northbound side of the road. The driver did not stop to help the victim, and fled the crash scene.

Responders arrived and transported the victim to Sharp Memorial Hospital. He died in the hospital.

His identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.

Investigators are continuing their work to locate the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run crash, and the suspect driver.
