Sailor Loses Part of His Penis in Accident, Is Awarded $7.5 Million
A jury awarded a former sailor $7,553,000.00 for an injury his received to his groin in a motorcycle accident in San Diego in 2007.
Matthew Wall, 27, was injured in a collision with a courtesy shuttle.
The shuttle van, from a San Diego auto dealership, crashed into him while he was riding his motorcycle to work.
He suffered from a fractured pubic ramus bone and damage to the nerve and arteries of the penis when he was thrown off of his motorcycle.
After a successful reconstructive surgery, Wall regained the ability to walk, but the length of his penis was shortened by 1.5 inches.
The San Diego-based jury found the shuttle van driver at fault and awarded the money to Wall for suffering, pain, medical bills and loss of income.
