Rollover Accident Leaves One Dead, Causes Brush Fire
One person died and a firefighter was injured in Santa Clarita when a car swerved off the side of the northbound Antelope Valley Freeway.
The vehicle caught on fire and ignited a brush fire in the ditch where it landed. Los Angeles County firefighters responded to the
scene of the accident.
The accident caused the closure of two of the northbound lanes. The closures caused a traffic backup that lasted for more than two hours.
The accident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. At 9:45 p.m. the lanes were still closed and officials had not yet made a decision to reopen them.
The victim has not been identified.
