An increase in car accidents has been reported throughout Southern California due to the rainy weather.

On Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) closed four lanes on the westbound 22 near the Magnolia Street exit because a three-car crash blocked all of the lanes. The CHP worked to clear all of the debris left from the accident, and the lanes reopened at 12 p.m. One person was taken to the UCI Medical Center to be treated for injuries.

Around 6 a.m., the driver of a Toyota 4Runner lost control of his vehicle and flipped over the center divider into oncoming traffic. One injury was reported.

A collision also occurred between a Vons big-rig and another vehicle on the southbound 57 near Tonner Canyon at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

Finally, a collision between a Mustang and a Mercedes was reported on the southbound I-5 near the city Drive. The Mercedes crashed into the center divider, and the Mustang ended up in the number 1 lane.
