Multiple vehicles collided this morning on the 91 Freeway in Anaheim, the Orange County Register reports, and one vehicle, a Hyundai Sonata, overturned. The 7:40 a.m. accident on February 8, 2012 occurred a little west of North State College Boulevard, according to the news story.

The Hyundai Sonata and four other vehicles that had been damaged were stopped in the car pool lane, blocking traffic.

California Highway Patrol Officer D.F. Evans said, the Register reports, that witnesses stated a Toyota 4Runner made a lane change that wasn’t safe into the carpool lane. That’s when the 4Runner sideswiped the Hyundai Sonata, which caused it to overturn, witnesses said. Evans stated, according to the Register, that the other vehicles that were damaged might have been a part of a chain-reaction crash as they attempted to stop on the freeway.

The Register reveals that three Good Samaritans, Dale Jabour, Jonathan Weaver, and Jesse Coronada, came to the assistance of the injured people in the Sonata. They removed a driver and a passenger from the overturned vehicle. Officer Evans said that investigators did not yet know if two separate crashes had happened.
