MORRO BAY, CA (July 22, 2021) – Mark Richard Evans was identified as the pedestrian who was struck and killed in Morro Bay last week. Evans was 69 years old, and was a resident of Twain Harte, located near Yosemite.

Authorities say Evans had been walking in the area of Morro Bay Boulevard on Thursday, July 16.

The time was roughly 12:00 p.m., police said.

Evans had been going across Morro Bay Boulevard where Bernado Avenue is located, and a vehicle–described as a Mission County Disposal Truck–struck him.

Evans died in the crash.

The driver of the garbage truck cooperated with investigators. The identity of the driver, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
