Los Angeles, CA May 6, 2018 – California Highway Patrol is looking for 2 suspects who survived a 2-vehicle collision that killed a 34-year old Beverly Hills woman in South Los Angeles Saturday evening, May 5th. According to authorities, the 34-year old woman was traveling northbound on Harvard Boulevard driving in a 1997 Honda Accord in the Athens section of unincorporated Los Angeles County. As she was approaching the intersection with 120th Street attempting to make a left hand turn, she was struck by a speeding 2016 Mercedes-Benz that was traveling eastbound on 120th Street. The impact sent the Mercedes-Benz into a power pole and the Honda came to a rest at a 2-way stop close to the intersection. California Highway Patrol dispatchers received a report of the collision and summoned officers to respond around 10:30 p.m. Officers arrived to find the driver of the Honda Accord dead at the scene.

According to witness testimony, 2 black males were seen exiting the Mercedes-Benz and entered into a 3rd vehicle, described as a white newer model BMW sedan that had been following the Mercedes-Benz. Both vehicles had paper dealer plates according to the witnesses making identifying the owners of the vehicles more difficult for authorities. The BMW was last sighted traveling east on 120th street. Detectives have yet to determine whether alcohol or drugs factored into the fatal collision, but say that excessive speeding on the Mercedes-Benz part may have been the cause. The incident remained under investigation. Anyone with more information is urged to call the California Highway Patrol’s West Los Angeles office at (310) 642-3939.
