June 9th ─ Kirker Pass Road have reopened following a fatal accident north of Concord Tuesday night. The incident was reported to the CHP who responded to calls of an overturned car along the Kirker Pass near Hess Road. Kirker Pass Road goes through Pittsburg to Walnut Creek and connects east and central parts of the Contra Costa County. There is a long hill that runs on both sides near the summit. Officers arrived around 7:15 p.m. to find a 1990s gray Dodge Stealth coupe flipped over with the driver inside. Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office identified the driver as Ramoncito Lucido, 30-years old. According to the CHP investigation, Lucido was traveling north on Kirker Pass when his vehicle slammed into a concrete divider, veering across the other lanes and onto a dirt embankment and flipped onto its roof where it landed. The CHP temporarily closed Kirker Pass Road in all directions between Myrtle Drive and Hess Road. They reopened the southbound lanes around 7:55 p.m. and the northbound lanes 2 hours later around 9:50 p.m.
