Elderly Bicyclist Killed in Huntington Beach

An elderly bicyclist was killed on Wednesday morning after he was hit by a sedan in Huntington Beach, according to police records.

Emergency crews responded to calls of a traffic accident near Bolsa Avenue to the west of Able Lane at 11:15 a.m.

The bicyclist was traveling eastbound on Bolsa Ave. when a 2009 BMW sedan hit him from behind, according to the police statement.

The bicyclist was taken to the UCI Medical Center and was pronounced dead.

The 23-year-old driver of BMW remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The incident is still under investigation.
