The 55-year-old woman who was driving the lunch truck has been identified as Elba Elizabeth Escobar. She died from injuries she sustained in the crash. Police said, according to the Times’ news story, that Escobar had been driving her lunch truck east on Washington, and she had another family member traveling with her in the cab of the truck.

A Mercedes, that had been heading in the opposite direction, turned left onto Union and hit the lunch truck. The force of the collision caused the truck to roll over, and Escobar was trapped inside. Rescuers took the injured woman to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead, the Times reports.

The family member who had been traveling with Escobar and the driver of the Mercedes sustained injuries that were not life threatening. Rescuers took the injured people to the hospital.

According to the Times’ news story, police had not yet determined the cause of the crash, but they are looking into whether one of the drivers ran a red light. Police said neither drugs nor alcohol seemed to play a role in the collision.
