SAN DIEGO, CA (January 11, 2022) – Early in the evening on Saturday in San Diego, a car crashed into the back end of a tractor-trailer, seriously injuring the car’s driver. The January 8 crash occurred on Palm Avenue in the 1800 block, in the neighborhood of Nestor.

The time was roughly 8:00 p.m., Robert Heims said. Heims is an officer with San Diego Police.

According to reports, a car–described as a Nissan Altima–crashed into the back end of a tractor-trailer that was stopped for a light that was red.

Responders arrived and transported the Nissan’s driver to the hospital. The patient suffered injuries that were described as life threatening; his current condition is not known.

The man was identified only as 29 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.

The person who was driving the tractor-trailer was reported to have been uninjured in the crash. The person has not been identified in reports.

Investigators are in the process of collecting information to understand the circumstances of the crash.
