Mission Hills, CA (August 6, 2019)- Los Angeles police department officials are reporting the 1 death and 1 person seriously injured following alleged street-racing incident in the Mission Hills area Tuesday evening, August 6th. The incident was reported around 10:00 P.M. Witnesses state that a 1994 Mazda had been recklessly racing with another vehicle traveling northbound on Woodman Avenue near the border with Panorama City.

For reasons unknown, the Mazda lost control and collided into a parked 2007 GMC Yukon near the intersection of Devonshire Street and Woodman Avenue. The other vehicle that had been racing with the Mazda fled the scene without stopping to render aid to the victims. First responders arrived to find the driver, a man described in his 30s, and a female passenger inside the wrecked vehicle. Both victims were extricated from the Mazda with the male victim pronounced dead at the scene and the female victim was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.
