4 Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run on Hwy 4 in Antioch
Antioch, CA (July 28, 2024) – A two-car accident on Highway 4 near Lone Tree Way left four individuals with serious injuries on Sunday afternoon. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the incident around 1:00 p.m.
According to CHP reports, a dark-colored pickup truck with a trailer made an unsafe lane change for an unknown reason, causing a Toyota Tacoma to lose control. As a result, the Tacoma veered off the grassy center divider and overturned multiple times.
4 Passengers of the Toyota Tacoma Sustained Serious Injuries While The Driver Was Unharmed
The pickup truck continued westbound on Highway 4 without stopping. Emergency responders arrived shortly after to find the driver of the Toyota Tacoma unharmed. However, the truck’s four passengers sustained severe injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. One passenger required airlifting due to the extent of their injuries.
Authorities have not yet determined if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. The CHP is urging anyone with information about the driver of the dark-colored pickup truck to come forward.
Motorists are reminded to exercise caution and ensure the road is clear before making lane changes to prevent similar accidents.
