LA JOLLA, CA (February 16, 2022) – Early in the evening on Monday in La Jolla, an elderly man who was walking across the road was struck and killed. The February 14 crash occurred on Torrey Pines Road in the 2500 block.
The time was roughly a little after 6:00 p.m., John Buttle said. Buttle is an officer with San Diego Police.
The man was going across the road on foot, and a vehicle–described as a Toyota Camry–struck him.
Responders arrived and transported the patient to the hospital. He died in the hospital.
He was identified only as 70 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The driver was identified only as 40 years old. Her name and city of residence have also not been reported.
Investigators are at work to collect details and information to understand the crash.
