SAN DIEGO, CA (February 3, 2022) – Late at night on Monday in San Diego, a hit-and-run driver injured a pedestrian. The January 31 crash occurred at 3011 Imperial Avenue in the East Village.

The time was roughly 11:41 p.m., John Buttle said. Buttle is an officer with San Diego Police.

The pedestrian was reported to have been walking toward her car that was in the parking lot for Mullen’s Liquor. A vehicle–described as gray in color, and which may have been a Honda Fit–struck the woman as it was reversing out of a parking spot.

The crash knocked the woman down.

Responders transported the woman to a hospital. The injuries she suffered included a leg that was broken.

She was identified only as 33 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.

Reports say that while police were conducting an investigation at the crash site, the driver fled the scene in the vehicle that struck the woman.

Investigators are searching for the vehicle, and the suspect driver.
