HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (June 10, 2021) – Early in the morning on Wednesday in Huntington Beach, a driver smashed into a parked vehicle, and was killed. The June 9 crash occurred on Pacific Coast Highway, in an area between Twin Dolphin Drive and 1st Street.

The time was roughly 1:30 a.m., Huntington Beach Police said.

A vehicle, which has not been described, had been heading southbound on the roadway. For reasons that are not known, the driver smashed into a car that was parked on Pacific Coast Highway. Fire erupted from the crash.

The person who had been driving the vehicle died at the crash site. The identity of the person has not been reported.

No one had been inside the parked car when the crash occurred. The car has not been described. The owner has not been identified.

Investigators are working to understand the crash, and why it happened.
