Garden Grove, CA – 2 suspects of a stolen vehicle are dead and a 3rd was injured following police pursuit that ended in a collision in Garden Grove Thursday evening, July 30th. According to spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Carrie Braun, officers attempted to initiate a stop over a hit on the car plates listing the vehicle as stolen just before 6:00 P.M. near the intersection of Katella Avenue and Beach Boulevard in Stanton. The stolen vehicle failed to stop to officers and a pursuit began. About 2 miles from where the pursuit had begun, the stolen vehicle collided with a fire hydrant and then proceeded to come to a rest at a tree at the intersection of Magnolia Street and Chapman Avenue. The force of impact caused the vehicle to roll over. “It appears they lost control, the car’s body was crumpled, and it appeared to be missing its roof.” said Garden Grove police Sgt. Lino Santana. First responders arrived and pronounced 1 suspect dead at the scene. Another suspect was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead by medical staff shortly after arriving. A 3rd suspect was also transported to a nearby hospital where they were treated for unknown conditions. Orange County sheriff’s officials are investigating the pursuit and stolen vehicle, while Garden Grove police are investigating the crash. No further details were available Thursday night.
