A police chase ended tragically when a passenger in a suspected stolen car was killed Monday. The car crashed in Acadia while being pursued by police, said authorities.
Police tried to stop the suspected stolen vehicle, but it sped off instead. The pursuit started about 11:30 a.m., said Arcadia police Lt. Tom Cullen.
Shortly after the chase began, the car crashed into another vehicle near Lower Azusa Road and Arden drive. The crash killed the passenger in the suspected stolen car, Cullen said.
The condition of the driver in the suspected stolen car was not immediately known. The condition of the drive in the other vehicle was also not immediately known. No officers were injured in the pursuit.
Police officials did not release the names of those involved in the crash.
