Pedestrian Passed Out On Gading Road Ran Over By Car Doing U-Turn Dies
HAYWARD, CA (November 20, 2024) – A pedestrian was fatally injured Wednesday afternoon in a car accident on Gading Road near Huntwood Way, according to Hayward Police.
The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. in the 26000 block of Gading Road. Authorities reported that a man had passed out in a parking lot for unknown reasons. But unfortunately, as a driver attempted a U-turn, they failed to see the pedestrian lying on the ground and accidentally ran over him.
Paramedics Transported Victim To Nearby Hospital Where He Later Died
Police arrived to find the man conscious and breathing. Paramedics transported him to a hospital, but his condition deteriorated, and he later died from his injuries.
The driver, a 52-year-old Hayward resident, remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office. In addition, anyone with information about this fatal accident is urged to contact Hayward Police at (510) 293-7011, referencing case number 2024-66440.
