A skydiving accident on Saturday left one person dead when his parachute failed to open and he fell to the ground.

The 35-year-old was skydiving alone and performing a complicated maneuver at a competition at the Perris Valley Skydiving building on the 2000 block of Goetz at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, when the accident occurred.

He was treated for his injuries at the scene, but later died.

This is the 15th skydiving death in California since 2000, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The crash is still under investigation.
