Seven people were killed early Saturday morning when a gunmen released a barrage of bullets from a car in Isla Vista before the gunman’s car crashed. The gunman was found dead inside after the shooting, according to authorities. Seven others were wounded in what the Santa Barbara County Sheriff describes as a premeditated event.

“This incident appears to be a mass murder situation,” Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown told a televised news conference. “We currently have seven people confirmed dead. That includes the suspect and six victims.”

The suspect, the seven killed nor those injured were not identified by officials.

Apparently a video by the suspect was posted to YouTube where the young man says, “I will have my revenge against humanity. I will punish all of you for it.” It appears that the young man was frustrated about women having rejected him.

Ten minutes elapsed between the first 911 calls and the gunman being found dead in his car. Witnesses reported a black BMW, the same in the YouTube video, speeding through the streets of the California college town and shooting bullets at people, according to KEYT-TV.

It isn’t clear if the suspected gunman was killed by deputies or from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. It wasn’t immediately known if the young suspected gunman was a student at UC Santa Barbara, the college located not far from where the shooting occurred.
