Fontana, CA – California Highway Control pas closed lanes of a transition road to the 15 Freeway in Fontana after gusty winds caused a big-rig tractor trailer to overturn early Monday morning, February 10th. CHP officers responded to calls of a single vehicle rollover collision that occurred on the westbound lanes of the 210 Freeway where it connects with the southbound lanes of the 15 Freeway. First responders arrived find the large semi-truck overturned. The driver was reported to have not been injured during the rollover. The big rig was transporting about 5,000 pounds worth of furniture according to the trucking manifest log. Powerful winds were blamed for the accident as a wind advisory went into effect throughout the Inland Empire effective until 4:00 P.M. Tuesday afternoon. The National Weather Service says that during the wind advisory, wind gusts up of 20 to 50 MPH are to be expected. Forecasters warned that strong winds could make travel difficult for high-profile vehicles driving through the Cajon and San Gorgonio passes. All drivers have been advised to exert caution while traveling through these areas.
