Vehicle Smashes into San Pedro House, Killing Driver

SAN PEDRO, CA (January 10, 2022) – On Friday night in San Pedro, a car smashed into a house, killing the driver. The January 7 crash occurred on West 26th Street in the 600 block.

The time was roughly 9:30 p.m., Drake Madison said. Madison is an officer with Los Angeles Police.

According to Officer Nyugen, the vehicle had been moving at a fast speed while traveling on Kerckhoff Avenue. The car–described as a Kia Nero–struck a car that was parked, and the car then smashed into the house.

Responders arrived and pronounced the driver deceased at the crash site. The identity of the driver has not been reported.

Reports say no one inside the house was hurt in the crash.

Inspectors from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety determined the house was structurally compromised, and the building was red-tagged.

Investigators are continuing their work to collect information about the crash.
