Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Victoria Ave. in Oxnard
OXNARD, CA (July 12, 2021) – Late at night on Saturday in Oxnard, a man who was walking was struck and killed in a traffic lane. The July 10 crash occurred on Victoria Avenue where Hemlock Street is located.
The time was roughly a little before midnight, according to Oxnard Police.
The pedestrian had been walking on Victoria Avenue in the lanes on the southbound side, according to police. A vehicle, which has not been described, struck him.
Responders arrived and pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the crash site. He was identified only as a resident of Ventura, 69 years old. His name has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle remained at the crash site and cooperated with investigators. He was identified only as a resident of Oxnard, 28 years old. His name has not been reported.
Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened.
