Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Grantville Area of San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA (February 15, 2022) – On Monday night in San Diego, a pedestrian was struck and killed in the Grantville neighborhood. The February 14 crash occurred at 4620 Alvarado Canyon Road, and involved a U-Haul moving truck.

The time was roughly 8:58 p.m., San Diego Police said.

No details have been reported on how the crash happened. It is not known where exactly the pedestrian had been standing or walking when the person was struck.

The line of travel of the truck is not known from reports.

Responders arrived to help, but the victim died at the crash site. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.

The identity of the person who was driving the box truck is also not known.

Investigators are in the process of working to understand the crash, and what factors may have played a role.
