Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Hit-and-run Driver at Sycamore Ave. in Vista

VISTA, CA (August 17, 2021) – On Friday night in Vista, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian. The August 13 crash occurred in the area of Green Oak Road and Sycamore Avenue.

The time was roughly a little before 9:00 a.m., the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.

According to reports, Good Samaritans provided first aid help to the victim until first responders came on site. Responders from the Vista Fire Department also provided first aid help, but the victim died at the scene of the crash.

The victim’s identity, including his name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.

Investigators are searching for the suspect hit-and-run driver, who has not been described, and the vehicle involved, which may have been a Chevrolet Tahoe, light brown in color.
