Mead Valley, CA (August 20, 2018) – Authorities are reporting that a male pedestrian was struck and killed in a fatal hit-and-run after he allegedly tried to carjack 2 drivers in the Mead Valley area, a city about 6 miles southwest of Moreno Valley, August 20th. According to California Highway Patrol officers, the suspect had been standing in the middle of the road at the intersection of Cajalco and Cowan Roads where he attempted to steal a passing sedan after the female driver had stopped and gotten out of her vehicle to help the pedestrian. An altercation ensued and the man eventually ran back into the roadway to attempt to carjack a Denali SUV. The driver of that vehicle accelerated and sped off striking the pedestrian with the side-view mirror. The pedestrian was then struck by a 3rd vehicle but the driver of that vehicle did not remain at the scene. CHP are searching for the 2 drivers who fled the scene.
