Man Injured in Crash at Shaver Ranch

A man hit several trees and was seriously injured on Saturday night while driving on Highway 168 near Shaver Ranch, just two miles from Cressman’s General Store.

The man was driving a white Toyota pickup truck and was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the California Highway Patrol. He was jostled in his truck during the accident and sustained major injuries such as head trauma.

The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. and forced the CHP to close several lanes.

The driver, who was about 60 years old, was flown to a local center for treatment. It is possible that he was under the influence of alcohol.
