Lisette Medrano Struck and Critically Injured by Bell Gardens Hit-and-run Driver 

BELL GARDENS, CA (April 12, 2022) – Early in the morning on Saturday in Bell Gardens, a hit-and-run driver struck and critically injured a pedestrian. The victim was later identified by family as Lisette Medrano, 33 years old.

The April 9 crash occurred at 6308 Eastern Avenue.

The time was roughly 1:45 a.m., Bell Gardens Police said.

According to authorities, video from a surveillance camera recorded the incident. In the video, a woman can be seen walking towards a parked car and approaching the door on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

As the woman begins to open the car door, a vehicle hit crashes into her, the car she is standing next to, and another vehicle that is parked.

The suspect hit-and-run driver leaves the scene without helping the victim. According to police, the vehicle may be a pickup truck, white in color, with a wooden bed.

Responders transported Medrano to the hospital. She suffered injuries that were described as critical.

Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the crash, and the hit-and-run driver, who has not been described.
