A crash in Boyle Heights on Friday morning killed an innocent woman when the driver crashed after racing his car down a residential street.

The driver did not have a valid license and police have issued a warrant for his arrest.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 3 a.m. near 4th and Boyle streets.

The woman was driving through the intersection when she was hit by the other driver.

Apparently, the other cars were racing on the I-5 freeway and then exited onto the surface streets in Boyle Heights. The cars went through a red light and hit the woman’s car, which then caught on fire.

The two drivers then tried to flee the scene of the accident, but they were later caught and arrested.

Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to cut the woman from her car. She was transported to the hospital, where she later died.
