THOUSAND OAKS, CA (June 10, 2022) – On Tuesday night in Thousand Oaks, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed an elderly man. The June 7 crash occurred on Thousand Oaks Boulevard, close to Clay Court and to the west of it.

The time was roughly 8:40 p.m., the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said.

The victim had been walking within a crosswalk that is marked, reports say, and a vehicle–described as a sedan, white in color–struck him.

The driver did not stay at the crash site, though according to a witness, the driver stopped for a moment after the crash, and then fled.

Responders transported the victim to a hospital in the area. He died in the hospital.

He was identified only as a resident of Thousand Oaks, 77 years old. His name has not been reported.

Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the crash, and the suspect hit-and-run driver, who has not been described.
