Redwood Valley, CA (October 8, 2018) – A Lakeport man was injured when the semi-truck he was driving on a two-lane road rolled over on Monday, October 8th, California Highway Patrol said. The incident occurred just before 11 a.m. when the driver of the big rig, identified as Matthew Black, 33, for unknown reasons drifted onto the shoulder of the roadway eventually losing control of the truck as it toppled over. CHP said the 1991 Kenworth water truck was eastbound on West Road near Road N at the time of the crash. Fortunately, although Black had swerved into the westbound lanes as he attempted to regain control of the truck, no other vehicles were involved in the wreck. According to CHP reports, the semi-truck rolled onto its right side and slid onto the right shoulder of the road after striking a tree and two fences. Black sustained moderate injuries from the crash and was taken by emergency responders to Santa Rosa Memorial for treatment. The exact cause of the crash was as of yet unknown, CHP said. Officials blocked the roadway for several hours while the semi-truck was cleared from the roadway and recovered, paving way for the investigation.
