SAN DIEGO, CA (August 12, 2021) – Late in the afternoon on Tuesday in San Diego, a car smashed into the living room of an apartment, injuring two people. The August 10 crash occurred on Highland Avenue in the 4200 block, in the area of Mid-City.

The time was roughly 4:30 p.m., John Buttle said. Buttle is an officer with San Diego Police.

No details have been reported on how the crash happened, or what type of vehicle struck the apartment building.

An elderly woman who lives in the apartment and was home when the crash happened was injured. Responders transported her to a hospital.

Her injuries were described as minor. Her identity has not been reported.

The person who had been driving the vehicle was also injured in the crash. The driver suffered injuries that were described as minor.

The person’s identity has not been reported.

The building was damaged, but the extent of the damage has not been reported.

Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened.
