FONTANA, CA (July 8, 2021) – On Wednesday afternoon in Fontana, two people were killed and three others were injured in a wrong-way crash involving four vehicles. The July 7 crash occurred on Sierra Avenue close to Ramona Avenue.

The time was roughly 3:00 p.m., according to Fontana Police.

A vehicle–described as a Ford Expedition, green in color–was traveling at a fast speed and heading south on Sierra Avenue, reports say. The Ford collided with three vehicles that were traveling north, according to police.

Responders arrived and pronounced two victims deceased at the crash site. The identities of the victims have not been reported. According to reports, a woman and her daughter were the two people who were killed in the crash.

The woman’s two other children who had been traveling with her suffered major injuries. Their condition was described as critical. Their names have not been reported.

Responders also transported the person who had been driving the Ford. The identity of the suspected wrong-way driver has not been reported.

Investigators are continuing to work on the crash.
