BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 10, 2021) – Late at night on Tuesday in Bakersfield, a woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver. The September 7 crash occurred where Ming Avenue and Stine Road intersect.

The time was roughly 10:30 p.m., Bakersfield Police said.

A vehicle–described as a Toyota C-HR SUV, orange or red in color–struck the pedestrian, according to Bakersfield Police. The driver did not remain at the crash site, but fled the area.

Responders transported the pedestrian to the hospital. She died in the hospital. Her name, age, and city of residence have not been reported.

Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the crash, and the suspect driver, who has not been described.
