Two People and a Dog Killed in Head-on Crash near Petaluma

Petaluma, CA (October 9, 2018) – A man and a woman along with a dog were killed in a head-on collision on Bodega Avenue this Sunday, October 7th, California Highway Patrol said. The incident occurred at 10:25 a.m. about a mile west of Petaluma when a Ford minivan collided head-on with a GMC pickup truck, CHP Sgt. Joshua Kolstad reported. CHP and a fire agency responded to the wreckage and closed the stretch of road. The drivers of the vehicles, a man and a woman unidentified by CHP, were pronounced dead at the scene. Two dogs were also occupants in the minivan, where one was found dead and the other turned to animal control officers, Kolstad said. Details were limited regarding the crash and the identities of the victims as CHP officers continued investigations. The two-lane road of Bodega Avenue was closed for several hours.
