Sun Valley Hit-and-run Crash on Laurel Canyon Blvd. Kills Pedestrian

SUN VALLEY, CA (November 1, 2021) – Late at night on Sunday in Sun Valley, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian. The October 31 crash occurred on Laurel Canyon Boulevard, close to where Strathern Street is located.

A vehicle–described only as silver in color–had been traveling on Laurel Canyon and heading north. A pedestrian was walking across the street, not within a crosswalk that is marked, and the vehicle hit the pedestrian, Los Angeles Police said.

The person who was driving the vehicle did not stop and remain at the crash site or help the person who was struck.

Responders took the victim to a hospital in the area. The person was pronounced deceased in the hospital.

The identity of the victim, including his name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.

Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run crash, and the suspect driver. If anyone has information about the crash, the person can contact Detective Wade, who is with the Valley Traffic Division. The number is 818-644-8036.
