June 23, 2020, Santa Ana, CA – The driver who is suspected of fatally striking and killing a pedestrian in Santa Ana Tuesday afternoon, June 23rd. According to Santa Ana Police Department, the collision occurred shortly after 1:40 P.M. near the intersection of Bristol Street and McFadden Avenue. A white BMW driven by Kevin Guardado, 26 years-old of Costa Mesa, had a green light but for unknown reasons the victim was in the crosswalk attempting to cross the street when she was struck. Guardado remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities but was later arrested when officers suspected he may have been under the influence. Bristol Street, from Bishop Street to Wilshire Avenue, was closed in all directions around 2:15 P.M.
