Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-run Crash near the Stratosphere


Las Vegas, NV (October 11, 2018) – Police are looking for a driver who fled the scene of a hit-and-run crash that killed a woman Thursday morning, October 11th, near the Stratosphere. The incident occurred as a 60-year-old woman, identified as Fadila Popovic, was walking with her husband across East St. Louis Avenue at around 9:30 a.m. that morning. Metro Police reports Popovic was hit by a Dodge Durango truck from behind and shot forward, striking the ground and landing close to the curb of the roadway. The driver of the Dodge fled the scene without stopping, failing to alert the authorities or emergency medical services. Popovic was transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries; her husband was uninjured.
