Lake Balboa, CA – 9 Injured in 3-Car Collision at Intersection of Hayvenhurst Ave. and Victory Blvd

Lake Balboa, CA (August 13, 2018) – 9 people were injured following a 3-vehicle crash that involved a Los Angeles Police Department patrol vehicle in Lake Balboa Monday evening, August 13th. According to Los Angeles police officers, an initial collision occurred between 2 vehicles at the intersection of Hayvenhurst Avenue and Victory Boulevard just after 8:00 p.m. An SUV and a sedan were involved in that initial collision that left the SUV overturned on its roof. The sedan had been traveling westbound on Victory Boulevard when it was hit by the SUV which was attempting to negotiate a left turn onto Hayvenhurst Avenue. The LAPD SUV was stopped in the left turn lane of Hayvenhurst Avenue when the collision occurred in the intersection. The LAPD SUV was struck by both vehicles but with less force than the initial collision. 5 people were occupying the SUV that overturned. All parties injured were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital where they were treated for their injuries. Both officers inside of the LAPD SUV were also taken to a local hospital where they were treated for minor injuries. Everyone is expected to survive.
