Hit-and-Run Vehicle Sought by LAPD

The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a white Porsche that fled the scene after a hit-and-run that left a bicyclist dead at a busy intersection in South Los Angeles Monday afternoon, April 9th. According to LAPD Capt. Jonathan Tom, the collision occurred shortly after 12:45 p.m. when officers responded to several reports of a hit-and-run at in the 1300 block of West Manchester Avenue and Normandie Avenue, on the border with the neighborhoods of Manchester Square and Vermont Knolls. Officers arrived to find a bicyclist lying in the intersection. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead a short time after arriving. Capt. Tom said that witness testimony of the accident suggests that a white Porsche Cayenne had struck the bicyclist and that the driver failed to stop and render aid and instead fled the scene. Authorities say they believe the Porsche would show signs of damage to its front.
