Long Beach police are still searching for the hit-and-run driver who smashed into an apartment building on Friday early in the morning.

The accident occurred in the 1800 block of East Pacific Coast Highway, near the intersection with Rose Avenue.

According to several witnesses, the driver plowed into the complex and then fled the scene. Unluckily for him, the front end bumper and license plate were left at the scene.

Investigators later found the car abandoned at the corner of Gardenia and 15th Street.

They are still searching for the suspect. No injuries were reported.
