Accident on Freeway Overpass Leaves One Dead, Two Injured
One person died and two people were seriously injured in a traffic collision on a bridge above the 405 freeway on Wednesday night, according to authorities.
Emergency responders arrived at the Bolsa Chica Road overpass above the 405 at about 8:30 p.m.
According to several witnesses, the crash was a head-on collision.
One male motorist died at the scene of the crash. Two others were taken to local hospitals in critical condition.
The identities of the other victims have not yet been released, pending the notification of their families.
Several exits on the 405 and other exits to the 22 freeway were closed on Wednesday night as investigators worked to clear the scene and investigate the crash.
