LONG BEACH, CA (September 7, 2021) – A teenaged boy was struck and killed in Long Beach on Sunday, and the driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The crash happened where Deborah Street and Los Coyotes Diagonal intersect.

Reports say the boy had been walking across the road in a crosswalk that is marked. A vehicle–described as a Chevrolet Tracker–struck him.

Responders arrived to help, but the boy died at the crash site. He was 16 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.

Authorities arrested the driver on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI. He was identified as Kevin Chris Dahl, a resident of Lakewood, 33 years old.
