Early this morning, a big-rig driver died in a crash on I-5 south of Elk Grove, the Sacramento Bee reports.  The 1:15 a.m. accident on January 19, 2012 occurred when the truck and trailer loaded with groceries, which was heading northbound on I-5, moved into the southbound lanes of the freeway. The vehicle then struck an embankment and freeway overcrossing at Lambert Road.

According to the Sac Bee’s news story, the high-speed crash destroyed the big-rig, and the truck’s driver passed away at the accident site.
