Big Rig and Motorcycle Crash on Otay Mesa Road in San Diego, Killing Rider
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 11, 2021) – On Thursday morning in San Diego, a crash involving a big rig and a motorcycle near the Brown Field Municipal Airport killed the rider. The June 10 crash occurred on Otay Mesa Road in the 7100 block.
The time was roughly 9:30 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
No details have yet been reported on the crash, and it is not known what line of travel each vehicle had been taking prior to colliding. Reports say the crash happened near a driveway, but the circumstances have not been described.
The motorcyclist died in the crash. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
It is not known if the person who had been driving the big rig was hurt in the crash.
Investigators are working on collecting information to understand why the crash happened, and what circumstances and factors may have been a part of the incident.
